A Pirate’s life for me!

Potc2

Not! After watching how unhygenic a pirate’s life is, i’m sorry, i’d rather choose to live a ‘hand-me-down’ life on land rather on sea!

Anyway, my verdict on the movie- it’s worth EVERY CENT of the ticket price. The graphic and sound effects were fantastic and breath-taking, the characters are as adorable as ever and William and Elizabeth Turner gets my vote as best couple. Oops, was that considered a spoiler?

By far, my favourite film of the trilogy. If you’re ready, click to read more at your own risk!

If you decide to stop here, the other thing you should take out of this is remember to stay till the end for a short video clip at the end. It’s quite heart-warming, actually.

The opening scene was nothing less than spectacular. I loved the way where they begun singing, giving strength and credibility to the entire movie, keeping it rolling from the beginning to the end. Every moment was packed with action and the audience are never left bored, but rather, thinking and linking one event to another.

Alright, although Pirates of the Carribean 2 was released slightly less than a year ago, i totally cannot remember anything from it, apart from the fact that the story plot was terrible, Captain Barbossa was brought back to life and Captain Jack Sparrow ‘died’… Other than that, I couldn’t really remember the details, which was bad, because I kept asking Vien, why this and this happened, where have we seen those characters before…

Anyway, some parts were rather confusing, especially when they were crossing and double-crossing each other until I was lost in translation… Like how Will Turner made a deal with Sao Feng in order to get back the Black Pearl in order to save his father left me wandering what was the price in exchange for that and how Elizabeth weirdly ended up being captain and ‘king’ after Sao Feng’s unfortunate accident…

The best part still remains as Jack Sparrow looked as if he was randomly executing his plans and how all of it linked up together nicely. It was hilarious to see how he was exchanged for Will Turner during the ‘parlay’ with the trios from the both ends. I still love his wacky ways of escaping- holding onto the rope while blasting himself away to the sky. Haha…

Well, it did not have a ‘happily-ever-after’ ending to it, but it was still quite satisfying, because Will and Elizabeth ended up together even though not truly together… meeting only 1 day in only 10 years, quite sad, but still, so noble! and their kid was so cute!!! It was quite a nice twist to see how they were actually like-minded when they were making decisions behind each others’ back. Their marriage was hilarious though, how Will proposed in the middle of their supposed ‘last battle’ and how the ceremony was conducted by none other than Barbossa. I love how they fought in unity, like a dance- amazing choreography!

Indeed, all the actors in the movie were all top-class, from Johnny Depp to Keira Knightley, totally amazing and convincing. With the exception of Chow Yun Fat though… I’m sorry, but perhaps, it was his english… the intonation was weird and he cut his phrases at weird places… And I was wondering how come suddenly he was so obsessed with Calypso… hmm… Johnny, Orlando and Keira look super hot too!!! Especially Keira Knightley in the chinese costume. Definitely an eye candy!
Ah yes, that story line about Davy Jones and Calypso still left me scratching my head…

Overall, it was still a great movie and worth a catch. Next up- Shrek 3!

I totally agree! I *loved* the final battle on the ships, ’cause PotC2 didn’t have the great swordfighting scenes that was part of what made the first movie totally rock, and here it comes back…as a dance between Will and Elizabeth, and a tightrope thing with Jones and Jack. lol! I especially love the way they played up the ‘pirate’ thing, blasting guns in the middle of a sword fight, using the precious chest as a bludgeon o.O anyway, i better save some of my comments for my own review, haha. i didnt watch the end though! the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. all the same….glad to see we agree that this movie was fantastique ;)

Lol… If it was the first, you should demand for a compensation. I wanna watch it again!!! Can’t wait to get my hands on the dvd. Another trilogy that deserves a spot in my original dvd collection :)

Oh you bet I’m getting the trilogy dvd set. There’d better be lots of interviews and commentaries, cos I so wanna hear about Depp playing Jack Sparrow, and Rush as Barbossa…he’s so cool :P yeah I missed the conclusion that made your every cent worth. haha I SO have to watch it again. Except without anyone to pei me, and my dad not willing to sit through another 3 hours with me, I’m gonna have to do it alone >
